Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was last modified on April 5, 2013.

Aim4Media takes protecting the privacy of Internet users very seriously. By publishing this Privacy Policy we would like to explain how we collect, protect and use information.

Please keep in mind when leaving our website or using our services that we have no control over our partners, clients or third parties. When using their website, services or when taking advantage of their advertised offers in any way, their privacy policy and terms of agreement apply.

How we collect information

We use cookies and pixels. By using this we can connect a unique ID to everyone (every device) who visits a website we are advertising at. This ID matches all the collected information to the device. This happens without the use of any personally identifiable information (PII).

  • Cookies: A cookie is a small data file that certain web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them. Cookies have the ability to store information about web pages viewed and the advertisements viewed or clicked. Cookies can also save user information, screen preferences, language preferences, privacy settings, what somebody buys etc.
  • Pixels: Pixel tags (also called clear GIFs, web beacons, or pixels) are small blocks of code on a webpage that allow websites to do things like read and place cookies. The resulting connection can include information such as the person’s IP address, the time the person viewed the pixel and the type of browser being used.

Why we collect data

The data is used to create profiles of users. With this profiles we are able show the users relevant advertisements. This is positive for both advertiser and user, because we serve out a less disruptive user experience. This process of matching user profiles with advertisements is fully automated. Only a few selected employees are able to see the user profiles.

User Choice

You are able to let your web browser refuse every cookie (see your browser’s help function). This, however, may ensure that you can’t use all the features of a website. It is also an option to opt-out from us collecting data. This does not mean you will not see advertisements anymore. You will still see advertisements, but they will not match your interests anymore. If you do not want to receive matching advertisements from us, you can opt-out.
